The whole body approach to wellbeing

by M. Arnel

"Rolfing is the nickname given to a form of body work and movement education pioneered from the work of Dr. Ida Rolf. She called it ‘structural integration’, which is a process of realigning the body through soft tissue manipulation. Through ageing, gravity, emotional stress, previous injuries and poor posture our bodies can become out of balance. This can translate in our posture as loss of energy, decrease in flexibility, backache, headache and general aches and pains. After balancing the body through Rolfing it enables us to function at a much higher level of efficiency and ease."    read on

Spa Guide for Men

by Vijay Guha

"The new metro sexual male phenomenon has taken over all the spheres of our existence. With men increasingly lending themselves to household chores, it is almost taken that they are not to lag behind in taking care of themselves. The rise in the number of spa-going men is ample proof this very fact. And though an increasing number of men are swearing by their personal experience at a spa, this is only the tip of the iceberg."   read on

Spas For Men

by Anitra Brown

"A growing number of men are going to spas -- with their wives or girlfriends, with their male partner, or on their own. Men now make up a third percent of all spagoers, according to the International Spa Association. And they're not just signing up for sports massages and manicures. They're getting facials, Vichy showers rituals and body scrubs."

Bear Facial

Bear –noun

1. any of the plantigrade, carnivorous or omnivorous mammals of the family Ursidae, having massive bodies, coarse heavy fur, relatively short limbs, and almost rudimentary tails.

2. LGBT slang for those in the bear communities, a subculture in the gay/bisexual male communities and an emerging subset of LGBT communities with events, codes and culture-specific identity. It also describes a physical type. Bears tend to have hairy bodies and facial hair; some are heavy-set; some project an image of working-class masculinity in their grooming and appearance, though none of these are requirements or unique indicators

More and more these days, the men in the Bear community, although they want to stay natural, still like to be well groomed. My bear services range from facials to beard maintenance, to manscaping!

Facials: A big hit in the SF bear community! Most estheticians (skin care experts) don't know how to deal with facial hair while performing a facial. Being bearded myself, I have mastered facial techniques for the hirsute. Facials include the following: -cleansing of the face, neck and chest -extraction of clogged pores -massage of the face, neck chest and shoulders - finished with a mask and moisturizer. There is always a happy ending (without the actual happy ending)!

Beard Maintenance: Whether kept short and tight, long and bushy, or sculpted and tapered, Bears like to keep their beards looking good. It can be difficult to do it on your own. With my help, using clippers and shears, we can come up with the look you want and help maintain it over time.

Manscaping: Either Bare or Bear, there is a need to work on body hair. Some want hair removal of certain areas, including back, shoulders and scrotum. For the true bear that can't fathom removing one hair from their beautiful fur, I offer manscaping. Chest and stomach hair, down to the bush, can be maintained, trimmed and shaped to look clean, yet natural, or shorn as short as you desire!

All services are discrete and performed in my private studio in the Mission District.
