The Chicago Metropolitan Sports Association (CMSA) is the largest not-for-profit gay and lesbian sports organization in the Midwest. We offer recreational and competitive level play in a variety of athletic leagues throughout the year.

Euro Games

EuroGames, the European Gay & Lesbian Championships, is an annual European sporting event governed by the European Gay & Lesbian Sport Federation (EGLSF). It is the biggest athletic event for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Europe.

 

 

Gay Games Cologne 2010

Between July 31st and August 7th in 2010 the Gay Games VIII will take place in Cologne, Germany. Around 12.000 participants from all over the world are expected to take part in this sport and cultural event. Participant figures are reaching almost Olympic size.

 

Gay Sport

The GaySport website and related services are a non-profit venture of the European Gay & Lesbian Sport Federation (EGLSF) . Its aim is to provide a free and independant information service to the Lesbian, Gay, BiSexual and Transgender (LGBT) community around the world.

 

GLISA

GLISA is an international gay and lesbian sport association. Modelled after a multi-sport governing body, its members are international sporting federations, continental associations representing sport teams and clubs from the major regions of the world, and host cities of GLISA's World Outgames and Continental Outgames.

International Front Runners

International Front Runners is an affiliation of GLBT running/walking clubs that have organized in many of larger cities around the world. Inspired by Patricia Nell Warren's novel The Front Runner, the first FrontRunner club began in San Francisco in 1974, and other FR clubs quickly began forming in the United States then in Canada and abroad.

 

Lambda Cycling Foundation

Lambda Cycling Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building up the rewarding and challenging sport of cycling within the gay and lesbian community.

 

Out Sports

Outsports' mission is to build the broadest, deepest, most informative and most entertaining gay sports community. This encompasses sports fans, teams and leagues.   • Lake Tahoe Gay and Lesbian Winter Fest Produced by the Nevada Gay and Lesbian Visitor & Convention Bureau, Winter Fest has grown into a full week of fun with the friendliest skiers and boarders from around the globe. The excitement begins on Sunday night (March 7) with a Welcome Reception at the Horizon Casino Resort overlooking beautiful Lake Tahoe.
  • Out on the Slopes OOSP was founded as a result of the first gay and lesbian ski week in Whistler Resort, now known as Altitude. The Whistler gay and lesbian ski week began in 1993 as a gathering of 200 local gay and lesbian skiers. Over eleven years after its inception, Altitude has grown tremendously. Bear Softball Chicago

  • Bears Softball Chicago Bears softball goes back for several years. Most teams came and went as soon as theseason was over.  Not until recently has there been a stable presence in the CMSA Summer Softball League.   Bears Softball is now a leader in not only CMSA but also in the gay community at large.  Bears Softball Chicago is committed to providing an atmosphere where a player can come
    out and enjoy a day out at the park with friends and family. Win or Lose we always have fun.

  • Emerald City Softball Association The ECSA "Open League" is open to both gay and non-gay men and women. Playing levels range from advanced to beginner and cover four divisions (A, B, C & D). Division placement depends primarily on player ability and overall team ability.
  • North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance Created in 1977, the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance is a non-profit, international organization comprised of men and women dedicated to promoting amateur athletics for the gay community. NAGAAA was formed to encourage the participation of gay men and women in organized softball competition. Currently, almost 50 gay softball leagues in about 30 cities in the United States and Canada are members of NAGAAA. Teams representing these leagues participate in NAGAAA's Gay Softball World Series ("GSWS"), hosted each year by a different member city. NAGAAA currently has two divisions:

  • Berlin Ringer Berlin, Germany - Site in German. Wrestling group based in Berlin.
  • Boston Union Wrestling Club - The Boston Union Wrestling Club was restored in 1997, reviving a club maintained until 1985 by Jim Peckham, Olympian and coach. It consists of individuals aged primarily from 18 to 55 who want to wrestle competitively as well as recreationally. Our focus is on folkstyle/scholastic wrestling. We practice freestyle before freestyle events as well during the off-season.
  • Chicago Wrestling Club - "The mission of the Chicago Wrestling Club is to provide a safe learning environment for wrestlers 18 years of age and older. We do not discriminate based on gender, orientation, age or wrestling experience. Our purpose is to train wrestlers in the disciplines of freestyle, greco-roman, and folkstyle wrestling."

  • London Wrestling - We're a friendly (really, we are!) club that trains in Greco-Roman/freestyle wrestling and submission grappling (submission wrestling). We hold regular practice sessions in Central London and in Brighton.

  • Rocky Mountain Wrestlers Denver, Colorado - The Rocky Mountain Wrestlers are a non-sexual athletic group for gay men in the Denver, Colorado area. We emphasize freestyle and collegiate wrestling.
  • Southern California Wrestling Club - Based in West Hollywood, CA. The Southern California Wrestling Club has promoted the sport of wrestling since the early '80s and has always had a commitment to a blend of technique training and open mat wrestling for all levels of experience, adults 18+. (SCWC is a USAW-sanctioned wrestling club.)
  • SPARTANS Philly Wrestling Club - Spartan Wrestling Club of Philadelphia is an adult recreational wrestling club dedicated to the enjoyment of freestyle wrestling. The club was founded in 1991.
